A good ipod is generally about 90 pounds, however all depends on what size you want. Someone like me doesn't need much, but you could be paying ALOT if you want 20gb
I admit I'm on the iPod bandwagon . . . but only because I won a mini in a raffle. I actually love the thing, but I probably would not have paid for one. There are some other models I think I'd like to have instead, but this was free, and how can you say no to a free mp3 player, especially such a nice one? I'm quite happy with it.
I used to have a 512mb off brand mp3 player, but I just recently got the LG 8500 phone and am using that as my mp3 player now. It uses SD mini's so there's really no limit on memory.
I forgot to mention my phone is also an MP3 player. I do use it, but not as often as I could because I don't want to waste my battery.

I think that is one of the biggest reasons why those combo devices are not as popular as they could be. if I had my phone stop working because I was jamming to tunes all day it would not be good. Battery life on a cell phone is precious.
I love the ipod. I had another MP3 player, but I use iTunes and podcasts a lot and so I found I wanted the ipod so that it was all compatible. I find it's very easy to use and update and to download songs on to.
