I think 50" would be more than enough for me. I do love tv but I don't want it to overpower the room. When it's off, it's a big black hole in the wall lol. I'd love a media room which was soley devoted to a big screen tv though.
There is a show called "How I Met Your Mother" and the one character on there named Barney is a big player. They showed his apartment and the girl asked why he had no tv and then he hit a button and the whole wall lit up, he said it was a 300" Flat Screen from Japan. The girl said "It hurts my eyes". He said, "Yeah that never goes away."
In a landscape of TV without many funny sitcoms, this is one of the few I watch and enjoy. I also like the Office and Two and Half Men. Can not think of any comedies I watch besides those.
I'm not much of a sitcom person at all, but the new 30 Rock which is written by Tina Fay is hysterical! I keep wishing it was an hour instead of 30 minutes.
I can't imagine how big it is in actual size. And it would probably have a nice and big picture already. At home my uncle bought a 50" pioneer plasma for us.
The thing is, it's not the size of the TV - it's the quality of the picture.
I learned the hard way that research on image quality was essential first, and that it was better to have a smaller TV with a good quality picture, than a bigger TV with a poorer quality picture.
