Default Universal Remote ONEforALL URC-9960

I have this Remote and it's preatu cool , for the fact that you can Hack it .
http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/

I just did it today and I was able to do memorry dump and all that fun stuff.

Originaly I hated this remote . Fact was that I spent $60 on it when in Radio Shack it was like $80 for the same one ( different manufacturer part number cause it's radio shack exclusive LOL ) .

Basicly it's 8-in-one Kameleon remote .

I think it's still sold. But not sure .

I have to do more playing around with it , to write up more about it , but I had it for 3 years and I used it only 2 weeks

When I was looking at universal remotes, I really liked the Sony models. However I gave up on the idea, just decided I did not really need it.

I have 2 remotes. Too much stuff. My little brother has one too, but I go into his room and reprogram it, so when he uses it again, nothing works right, it is all in good fun.

My brother is a gadget freak and spent a small fortune on a top of the range all singing all dancing universal remote control. It looks like a brick and eats batteries. Put me off buying one.

I actually got a Harmony 676 recently which is made by Logitech, and I love it. I got a $50.00 rebate on it, so I ended up getting it from Outpost.com for $99.00 and then $50.00 rebate so was only $149.00

Not all universal remotes are equal. The harmony line is excellent, especially for the price.

I was watching "I Want That" the other day, and they had a remote that could be programmed to run ANYTHING that had a laser sensor. It wasn't cheap, though. If I remember correctly it ran around $300.

I have had one in the past. But I don't know if it was the one we bought or what but it was a pain to program. Has anybody else had problems with programming them?

This one had downloadable programming. You just went to their website, plugged in the model numbers of all your equipment, and used a cable to download the information directly into the remote.

Yes we have one and I agree that they are a pain in the neck to program. Of course I have a hard time programing anything. If it was not for my kids I would be lost.

This one is the was the Harman Kardon TC 30 and was programmed by downloading from the internet directly to the remote - so it will be a snap. Great gift for the gadgetly minded.
