Default Download and Burn?

Anyone hear the announcement about the web movie service that will now allow you to download movies and burn them to your own dvds?

CinemaNow I think is the name. Also supposedly Apple iTunes is going to offer the same service in the future.

I think this is a good step if they make it affordable.

I saw an ad for something like this, in fact if I remember right the commercial was knocking Netflix. How funny...how in the world are places like Blockbuster going to last?

Yeah I think we are a few years away from brick-and-mortar rentals going away, but we are getting there. With highspeed continuing to go up, dvd burners becoming cheap as candy, pretty much everyone can afford to burn their own dvds at home. Will be interesting.

When they can bring new releases to me this way, that is when I will be happy.

Me too. I really don't like video stores at all; this will be great. I'm not sure stores will be threatened by the online presence right away, but they probably will once the idea catches on.

I actually really enjoy going out to a store to get a movie. I don't like to sit behind my computer the WHOLE time, you know! I think it could be handy, but it would also take something away from the whole experience for me.

I can't wait until this service is available for new releases, I'm sure its only a matter of time. I hate going to the theater and having the movie ruined by some jerk behind that can't shut up.

Video stores will have to adapt to the market changes or they'll fail. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Blockbuster's board room right now though.

If Blockbusters goes under, I think they deserve it. They've been the only game in town, and I hate the way they censor stuff. That sucks!

I personally abhor Blockbuster, I don't know how many times I would have to fight late fee charges with them, for movies I turned in well ahead of the due date. With all the problems I've had with them, I've found buying used dvds to be a better solution. I really look forward to services like this, and can't wait to see them close down.

I haven't heard any nor saw an ad for this. But it would be really great if it will happened. And I look forward in it because I prefer to download movies into my computer rather than to rent a DVD and pay fine charges to returned it delayed. It's so exciting to have a Blockbuster updated movies.
