Default Batman Begins

I was really impressed with this film - such a break from the growing cheesiness of the previous Batman films, and very gritty and compelling viewing.

It's one of the few movies I've watched recently that I'd like to watch again, but I thought I might let the kids watch it.

Problem is, I don;t remember too much about it in terms of whether it'll be too disturbing to them - the eldest, who's 7, is particularly sensitive, but I feel a need to let her grow up and watch some more "grown up" kids films.

Is it likely to be too scary, though?

I wouldn't hook that up with the kids just yet. They have plenty of time ahead of them to be barraged by such images, don't you think?

I think it's a bit too much for kids that age. just wait a couple of years, I'd say.

I wouldn't put this out there for such a young one. There will be plenty of media offerings thrust upon her by sources outside of your control. Why add to that?

Everyone keeps telling me it is good. I have taped it on my TiVo three times now off the Satellite but every time I forget to save it before it rolls off. I still want to see it, but I just never seem to have time to get to it.

i did like this movie so much! it certainly is my most favorite batman film. upon watching it, i had a significant life realization: that batman is more admirable than superman (for me, that is). lol.

anyway, i have to agree with what the above posters said; it may be wise to wait for a few more years before letting your children watch---wait a minute....i actually had a chance to watch a bunch of JAMES BOND movies when i was about 7. we're talking of james bond here, ladies and gentlemen, not JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. lol. i'm not kidding! octopussy, dr.no, never say never again, license to kill, name it! i have watched it since the tender age of 7. hahaha...apparently, my father wanted to share his reverence for 007 with his beloved children. it has got to be a family thing. lol. anyway, i turned out alright. (i think.) then again, i still suggest that you wait a while before letting them watch OR EVEN TOUCH that DVD. maybe a few years, or months?

hmmm...i did see the movie but i wouldn't want to be the one to say whether you must recommend it to your grandsons or not. i personally think it would be better if you see it first, and then let your judgment tell you if it's alright for your grandsons to watch it.

Thank you. I will watch it before I decide if it is ok for them. I am just afraid as a grandmother I will be to picky. But I am going to give it a try and take it from there.

I don't really think you are being too picky, just because you actually asked others and considered it! I agree with others though, it's a great movie, but there's a bit too much violence for kids that young.
