Those kits work to a point. Like anything else it depends on the damage.

That's understandable. I figure if it's scratched beyond all recognition it's no use but I have not ever heard of any results from the kits so I don't want to waste my money...

i just use furniture polish and a lint free cloth it tends to do the job for me

I have never thought of furniture polish. I would have been afraid it might leave a residue. Good tip, thanks for passing it along.
