I'd have to say that Finding Nemo is one of the best animated movies ever made. The moral lesson was clearly conveyed through the great storyline and visual effects. It really appealed to the emotion.

My brothers liked Cars, too. They've seen it several times. I think it deserved to be awarded Best Animated Film of the Year.

What's good about the film Cars is that it made of animated characters which are already familiar to the viewers, therefore, they can relate to it.

In general I prefer the old Disney animations over japanimation/anime. As for the new Disney and Pixar-ish animated movies... It depends on the movie.

Favorite animated at the moment is "Anastasia" (not Disney, FOX actually). I also like Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Tarzan...

Newer animation that others have listed: Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, Polar Express...

Japanamation/Anime and the like... I like some of Miyazaki's works like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky. Naruto was cool.

Tanget - Television:
OH! If anyone remembers Grimms Fairy Tale Classics. That was a good show with some great animation. Animaniacs. Gargoyles. Flinstones. Jetsons. Some Tom and Jerry. Muppet Babies. Duck Tales. Darkwing Duck. Gummi Bears. Care Bears. Some Looney Toons. Tiny Toons.

*getting all nostolgic*

I look at these movies and I go back to Roger Rabbit. Somehow it ranks at the top.

CG wise it would have to be The Incredibles, right next to Monster House, which I loved. Traditional animation would have to be Aladdin, followed by the Lion King. And traditional Japanese animation would have to be Spirited Away, followed by Akira.

I haven't heard anyone mention Akira in a long time. That was a piece of work.

Oh I'd forgotten about Fern Gully! I saw that when I had barely outgrown Disney films but thought it was delightfully beautiful.
