Default Movie Theatres

Do a lot of you still go to the movie theatres? I will take the kids on occasion but that is about it. I enjoy going to the theatre myself, but my husband has always hated to go. So we don't go all that much. The one thing besides the ticket prices that get me are the prices for the food. I usually sneak the candy in and just buy the kids something to drink. I find the prices beyond ridiculous.

Just fun of going to theatre if the movie is great and funny. And it also depends to our mood and budget availability. It's realy expensive to go theatre. We spent too much for the food.

I've never been to the movies for years since i was about 14!
I like to stay in now and watch them with my family and it also saves alot of money!

I do not enjoy going too the movie theater that much anymore. I would much rather rent amovie video and stay home. I find alot less of a hassle just to stay home.

The Movie Theatre is a big deal in our household. Usually we just rent a movie or get a pay per view thing. I'm agoraphobic so it's hard for me to get out sometimes. Since I'm a writer, I don't like to be on my meds. Ok please do not flame the heck out of me or suggest electroshock. We'll pretend I didn't say it. Just suffice it to say that if we go to the movies, it's on a weird day and it's planned out very strategically.

Wow, after looking over the replies you cannot help but wonder how long the movie theatre will be around? I know one that has been open for years is now closed in our area. You would think that when they see the attendence going down they would do something about it. But it just seems to me the prices just keep going up.

i rarely watch films in movie theaters nowadays. i consider doing so only if the film is a high-action film like LOTR. i wanted to watch the prestige in the moviehouse but was utterly busy these past weeks. i guess i just have to wait for the DVD.

Same as in our place. Movie theatre went close because people mostly rent videos and watch it at home for thifty wise.

We got to the "free movies" the local theater offers in the summer, and we go to the local drive in. But as for paying for the new releases, it's EXTREMELY rare. It costs as much to go to the movies and get a couple of snacks as it does to go to a decent restaurant - and that's just crazy!

The movie theater experience has changed a lot though. Not only that but the movie industry has changed as well along with formats and technology.

I don't go to the theater as often as I had when I was younger for the same reasons many others don't. Cold multiplex theaters with terribly high priced tickets along with crazy high priced food and drink. Sticky floors and unknown behavioral audiences.

Kelkat, you still have a local drive in where you live?
