Default Getting lost with digital cameras?

I normally leave my girlfriend to do the photography and video camera, and have barely ever used the newer digital camera and digital video cameras.

However, I'm now pretty lost on how to use them - at present, I barely dare touch the video camera because I don't have a clue!

Anyone else have this problem?

I've always been pretty good at figuring those sorts of things out. You should just try to fiddle with it a bit and you'll be surprised at how easy it is.

Once you can understand one, you can understand them all no problem. A bit like mobile phones.

We have digital camera my husband and I really do not know how to work it. Everytime we try and use it we end up getting frustrated, and end up putting it down. I hope some day we will learn to use it.

brian, don't feel bad about it, my mother had the same problem. but lately, she learned how to use the videocam. she just let us instruct her on how to use it and although she's not really a pro now, she does know the basics.

people have different learning styles. while some people may learn better by reading manuals, i need to be instructed by a personal tutor. lol. others would want to learn it by themselves and do learn better that way. i suggest you learn the basics by using the learning style which works best for you.

We have a digital camera and my husband loves it. I do know how to use it but I don't really care for it all that much. I just don't like the way it works myself.

Well that is a normal situation specially if you have it in hand new. I often experience that situation but manual is always my bestfriend at the beginning. And then everything will be fine.

Just play around with it - you can't break it and if you do change a setting you shouldn't have, it should be easy enough to reset the camera back to default. Trust me, they aren't that bad once you get used to the menus.
