My fiancee needs a camera.

My fiancee's birthday is coming up. Since her hobby is photography, I thought I would get her a new camera. Anyone know a good, high quality digicam?

What level of photography? If she is into casual stuff then i would recommend an acer with a play.com 2 gb memory card, cheap and good.

That's a good point - depends whether price or quality of picture is your key issue.

And listen to them when they say you need to purchase a memory card. I didn't because the camera came with one so I was like, This is fine until I found out it only takes three pics.

We also experienced with that wondering2. My cousin bought a camera with a memory card and not knowing that we can only took at the maximum of 8 pics. I don't know what's the reason behind. Maybe its the capacity of the memory card.

The last camera I bought, I actually negotiated a bigger memory card and got it included in the retail price. Just do some bargaining, and then you end up with two ...one that comes with the camera and a bigger one.

I'd like to get my kids some good (but not expensive - they are kids) cameras. They have both shown an interest in photography. The one my mother got them last year for Christmas ATE AA batteries. That's almost as bad as being expensive.

Any thoughts on beginner cameras?
