Has anyone experienced losing their entire history on their camera? Why does this happen? It's only happened to me once but I KNOW that I didn't press the wrong button so what could be the reason?

I experienced that oftentimes because of pressing a wrong button. But in your case, there must be a technical problem on your cam. Try to consult it to a repair center.

No - but recently I had all the memory cards uploaded to PC - then lost it all in a harddrive crash.

Luckily any decent photos were long printed off, and I think there's a DVD copy of them all made for the mother-in-law I can chase up.

Still, it's sad to lose the data - digital formats are so easy to use, but so easy to lose as well.

Do not feel bad I have lost all my data just by pushing the wrong button. My problem is I never learn by my mistakes. I find myself still doing it. Will I ever learn.

fortunately, i haven't erase all my photos by pressing the wrong button but my friend has the same problem. i think she has lost 2 batches of photos in her digicam just because she pressed the wrong button...
