We bought our digital camera about three years ago and have used it like mad ever since. I have noticed lately that the batteries (rechargeable) just don't seem to last as long as they used to. Do these wear out?
I find that happens with rechargables after a while, but I keep buying the same brand and they all get mixed up. I should start marking them so I know which ones are older!
Rechargable batteries tend to hold a smaller and smaller charger overtime. Just the way the batteries work and a portion of them don't hold a charge any longer, so the life of each charge is a little less than the one before.
Rechargeables are definitely cheaper than normal batteries but like already stated they do lose their charge after time. Although, I still prefer them - I would hate to see how much it would cost to power my digi camera w/o them!
I never realized that rechargeable batteries quit holding a charge after awhile. I just never thought about it but I guess that would make sense that after awhile they would. Maybe that is why when I put them in my camera they go dead so fast. I am glad that I found this thread.
I am like you riskey58. I never realized that rechargable batterys could quit holding a charge. I don't know why I never thought of that. I mean if you think about it your car battery does the same thing.
I have small children and have to buy AA batteries by the truck load. With Christmas just around the corner, it might be time to break down and invest in the rechargables. Is one brand better than another? And where is the best place to buy them?
