Default CD Crack

I have a CD with a small crack on the outer edge, and it is about 1/8th in long. When I put it in a regular CD player it works, but when I put it in my laptop to copy to my computer it won't work. Why will it work with one and not the other, and is there any way to get it to work with my laptop?

Must be the drive.. for whatever reason it is not liking it in the laptop drive.. try it on another CD drive and see if it works.

Default CD Crack

I find that laptop drives are slightly more picky than desktop drives. I find the best drives for reading CD's that aren't in the greatest condition are good desktop CD burners. Personally, I'd use Alcohol 120% to make an image of that CD and then burn a new one, if you have the capabilities... if not, maybe ask a friend to do it for you.... or you could mail me the CD and I'll send you back a new copy...lol

Thats good advice. I would clean it as well as i could, and if the drive could still not copy it just try useing a different computer. And if that still does not work try buying a CD burner if you have the money. More like a last resort.

Yeah maybe your laptop cd reader is a little bit old, or perhaps a little bit dirty, get those cd lens cleaners, it might help.

Different CD players read CD's different. The laptop will just be that much more focused and read more of the CD than your nomral player.

That's really interesting to hear; I always found both my laptop and my PC CD players to be far less picky than the one in my stereo. Weird. I rarely have problems with either of my computers reading a CD, even one that's pretty old and scratched.

I am with CJ on this. I have cd player in my car that has many more problems playing a variety of cds but my computers never have any trouble. Why do they make commercial components so poorly.
