Default Ipod Nano -> waste of $$???

Hello all,

After saving money for months, I bought a Nano not too long ago. Everything was going smooth until recently...the screen freezes on me at least once a day and on top of that, it turns off by itself!

I tried taking it back to Radioshack (because I also purchased a warranty) but all they keep telling me is to do "charge the battery". Well, DUR! I charge it everyday....

I am getting really frustrated because my other friends who bought Nano are having same kind of problems.

Any advices on what to do?

I am starting to feel like I've wasted my 250 bucks...

You might want to try get it fixed? But I know what you meen - when you pay our high sums of money for something you expect it to be top quality. And when it starts to fade a little and do this, you do feel it's a waste of money. I think you should ask them for the price of getting it fixed would be. If it is another high sum of money, don't bother!

Ugh.. Radio Shack.... I would contact Apple customer service and see what they can do about it.. and if you really did purchase a warranty from RX, demand a new one!

Exactly, if you got the warentee with the nano you should be able to demand them to either fix it or replace it. Or at least get them to look at it long enough to tell you hot to fix it.

With that warentee your able to get it fixed. Otherwise i think its agenst the law for them to have you get a warentee with no intention on enforcing it.

I'm not keen on the Nano's anyway but I think so think its appalling that they won't fix it for you. Although I've never heard of Radioshack I'm certainly not getting anything from there now

It's funny ppl dis the Nano so much because the problems they encounter not long after they had it.

I forgot when did I purchase the Nano but I bought it when they first arrived at the Apple Store and I've never had any problem with it, anything. I guess it's luck

You charge it every day. Hmm. I could be wrong but the battery might be suffering from the "memory effect". I think they use Li-ion batteries which are much better.

I would suggest you replace the battery. Try to see if it fits your warranty as stipulated in a previous post.

Default Ipod nano

If you bought an extended warranty go back to the store and tell the Dumba** that you would like to speak with his manager about the Ipod you purchased and about the extended warranty that you purchased. If the manager doesn't help you tell him you would like the regional managers phone number so you can get helped if he doesn't help you out call Radio Shacks corporate office I am sure there is a number on the website Phone: (817) 415-3011 or you can try there customer service 1-800-THE-SHACK. Tell them what you have gone through and how unhelpful the sale people at the store have been. If these people don't help ask for their supervisor eventually you will get satisfaction...

Apple should have fixed it. They have not even been on the market long enough to be out of warranty.

The one interesting thing about the nano is it launched into an over-crowded market already. Apple should not have really treated it so poorly in terms of repair as that higher quality was the only way to differentiate themselves from the 100s of competitors in that market segment.
