I used to rent, but I don't really like a whole lot of movies, so it wasn't cost effective. I have a short list of movies I really, really love and I just watch those over and over and over again, so it makes more sense to buy them. However, I would rent through Netflix, just because of the wide range of stuff you can find that you wouldn't be able to get at your local video store.
