Default Building component cables

Hi all,

I decided to build my own component cables because I think they are over priced, especially for the lengths I need.

In any event the total distance from my AV equipment to my TV is 40ft, by the time I snake the cabling up, across and down between the equipment.

In the wall, I attach the component cables via an RCA patch plug then use a shorter 1 metre component cable to go from the wall to the TV.

I connect the cables up and the colours are off. I know you are going to say they are in the wrong order.

To verify they are not, I use my RCA video connection and test each cable one at a time and labelled them as I went along. BTW, when I used each cable with the RCA video input/output between devices the colours were crisp and clear.

ALSO, to eliminate the RCA patch plugs I pulled the cables far enough thru and connected them DIRECTLY between my TV and DVD devices. I still get the same reddish, slightly grainy colours.

Anyone have any thoughts on what the problem may be.
